Q. Who are  AIMS Inc.?

A. AIMS Inc. is a highly successful Canadian-owned company registered in the UK with Sales & Support Offices located in Miami, USA and Athens, Greece.

A. Athens is strategically located to support the continued expansion of the European Union including Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean in relation to the world market. Our base costs are substantially lower than any of our Canadian, European or US competitors. This is reflected in AIMS Inc's software prices, and the standard of  support services. This is why more airlines in the European Union Airline Industry use AIMS Software than any other.

Q. What is AIMS?

A. AIMS is an acronym for - Airline Information Management System. It is a complete, fully developed integrated and operationally proven Crew Management, Operations Control (including Aircraft Scheduling) and Commercial Planning System which uses the very latest state of the art GUI Windows/NT Client Server-based technology.

Q. Which RDBMS does AIMS support?

A. AIMS versions are available for Microsoft MS-SQL, ORACLE and Pervasive databases

Q. What is the purpose of AIMS?

A. AIMS is designed to assist airlines of all categories and sizes improve the efficiency of their crew, flights and aircraft planning and co-ordination in order to minimize operating costs and maximize profitability.

Q. Is AIMS limited by airline size?

A. No. AIMS is not limited by airline size, route network complexity, base locations, fleet composition, flight deck/cabin crew establishment and multi-type ratings etc. It is a "true" multi-user/departmental access solution capable of supporting an unlimited number of work stations providing exceptionally fast simultaneous user response times.

Q. Can AIMS be used by Airline Alliances or Groups?

A. Yes. Because AIMS is designed to support all categories and sizes of airline operations, and many national and company regulations.  It is particularly well suited for airline alliances world wide or for groups of airlines within individual or multiple countries. It can be installed centrally within an airline alliance or group headquarters or at individual airline group headquarters or at individual airline base locations with appropriate customization to suit any national company regulations, organization and procedural variations. This offers airlines substantial savings in manpower, operational, administrative and communications costs.

Q. Discount available?

A. Yes. Up to 25% discount is available dependent upon the numbers of airlines within an alliance or groups  purchasing the AIMS software.

Q. Can a small airline use AIMS?

A. Yes. AIMS Inc. offers a special "Standard" Version of AIMS designed specifically for initial start-up and small airline operations with less than 50 flight deck and cabin crew. This can be upgraded to the Enterprise Version of AIMS as required by the user airline in line with its future expansion. Software prices commence from as low as EUR 85,000.

Q. How much does AIMS cost?

A. There is an AIMS solution to suit every airline’s budget. Software prices range for the complete system from EUR 270,000 - 5M and are based upon individual airline categories, fleet size and flight deck/cabin crew establishment.

Q. What are the advantages of purchasing AIMS software?

A. AIMS is a long term cost-effective solution. The industry amortization norm for Crew Management, Operations Control and Commercial Planning software is three to five years. Airlines purchasing AIMS have zero monthly costs after years three to  five. Airlines which have leased or rented their software on a monthly basis are committed to needless additional on-going software costs. Some of AIMS Inc.'s oldest client airlines have been using progressively enhanced versions of AIMS since 1983 and have made substantial savings by not leasing or renting their software.

Q. What Civil Aviation Regulations does AIMS support?

A. AIMS supports most national civil aviation regulations and many company variations. It has already been approved by 32 national civil aviation authorities responsible for monitoring airline crew scheduling standards.

Q. What methods of Crew Scheduling does AIMS support?

A. AIMS supports the  "Fair Assignment", "Preferential Bidding" and 'Bidline' Construction methods of Crew Scheduling. 

Q. What is the most efficient Method of crew scheduling?

A. The "Fair Assignment" Method of crew scheduling is the most efficient. It requires less management and support staff to administer it and usually results in less crew required for any given seasonal Schedules Plan.

Q. What does "Preferential" mean?

A. "Preferential" is the method used to accommodate a wide range of crew preferences in accordance with procedures defined by individual airline users.

Q. Can the system be abused?

A. No. It is an ultra-efficient airline management tool with multi-level security and password protocols designed to avoid operating abuse and safeguard individual crew member interests in accordance with individual airline national/company regulations, aircrew liaison group and union agreements as applicable. The system has a full Audit Trail System that records who changed what, when and why. It produces a comprehensive range of crew-related reports and statistics which prove the complete fairness of the system and highlights any crew scheduling anomalies to improve future rosters and enhance crew motivation, morale and overall flight safety.

Q. How much will AIMS save my airline?

A. It is difficult to be specific as to how much an airline can save directly or indirectly using AIMS. No one airline is the same as another. Each has formed and evolved individually within its own manual and/or automated environments influenced by varying aero political and market factors, national/company regulations policy, organization, procedures and union agreements etc. AIMS is not just a Specialist Flight Operations System. It is a "true" Multi-user/Departmental Access Solution. The data output from AIMS can be used to meet most of the information requirements throughout an airline and drive many of the other specialist systems to be found in supporting sections and departments in a typical airline corporate environment of any size from initial start-up to a very large multi-fleet operations. The actual cost savings an airline can achieve with AIMS is directly dependent upon the efficiency of its existing management policies, organization and procedures and the extent to which it wishes to fully utilize AIMS.
